SOS Children’s Villages is a social development organisation, focusing on the care and support of orphaned and vulnerable children. SOS Children’s Villages International is the international umbrella organisation that provides support for member associations in more than 139 countries worldwide.

We seek a dynamic individual and who has a real motivation to work for a social and humanitarian organisation.

As a French translator, you will provide French translation, editing and proofreading services for the General Secretariat and also assist in agreeing on French terminology used at SOS Children’s Villages.

• Translating from English into French (and sometimes from French into English)

• Occasional interpreting between French and English

• Suggesting and agreeing on French terminology with colleagues and partners at our General Secretariat

• Participating in regular telephone conferences with colleagues

You are a native French speaker. A degree in English is essential and a higher qualification in interpreting and translation is desired. Working knowledge of Arabic would be a real asset. You are organised, reliable, punctual, accurate, good team player and have an experience in a multicultural environment. You show ability to communicate at multiple levels in the organization. You have excellent use of MS office.

We offer range of challenging tasks in an international working environment and initially a one year contract, which can lead to an indeterminate contract based on performance.
